Dany had come to the US to study at Santa Clara University, ultimately getting a Masters in Spirituality and then a job at Sacred Heart Prep (SHP) where worked as a teacher and in campus ministry. Eric’s kids went to SHP and it was there they first met. Eric was the “cool dad” who was Snapchatting with his kids, and Dany was, well, Dany.

The Northern Territory, the “real Australia” (at least according to the Territorians) is in the middle of Australia, and as far north as you can go. Two and a half times as big as California, the NT has a population of ~250,000 (only!) and is famous for its “out bush” desert landscapes and incredible national parks. Most of these 250,000 real Aussies live in Darwin, the NT Capital. Darwin is a beautiful, coastal city (town?) famous for its beaches, sunsets, multicultural food, outdoor markets, and tropical vibe. Oh, and things in the ocean which will “get ya” (said Dany)… crocs, sharks, jellies, to mention just a few! No matter, there are things on land as well, but the locals are well versed and true survivors. They don’t call it Darwin for nothing…

Spring in Paris! Eric outdid himself. After a few photos at the Eiffel Tower it was off to a private viewing of Midnight in Paris (“are we really watching a movie about Paris while we are actually IN Paris?”, mused Dany), but after a few minutes the ruse was over and the “movie” was switched to a short film titled “Eric and Dany”, narrated by Eric, describing their relationship and how much Dany means to him. From there, “follow the rose” and Dany was led to a rooftop terrace where she was greeted with candles, flowers, a harpist, a view of the Eiffel Tower, and her love. She said “yes” (!) And it was off to dinner (at Maxim’s!). A real tour (via Rolls Royce!) of midnight in Paris, the City of Lights, was a perfect way to end their magical evening.
